2008 is going to be a famous landmark in the history of Kandassamkadavu parish. The church completes two hundred glorious years of its inimitable service in 2008. Celebrations are on to make it an unforgettable event in the history of the church. They are being planned and implemented by various committees appointed for that. The celebrations will be officially inaugurated by Archbishop Most Rev Dr George Panikkulam, the representative of

His Holiness the Pope, on 1 January 2008. In connection with the bicentenary celebrations, the parish has planned various social service programmes aiming at the overall development of the village and spiritual rejuvenation drives for the parishioners. In the bicentenary year, the parish intends to organize various cultural and artistic events as well. All these are expected to make the church still more famous and far more spiritually enlightened.

Church History

Christian emigration started taking place in Kandassamkadavu as far back as 1673. The first Christian settlers of Kandassamkadavu had been two families called Vadakkemala and Kuruthukulangare who came from Keyikulangara (Chettuvamanappuram), which had been one of the branches of the erstwhile Mahodayapuram.........
