Bishop Mathew Anikuzhikattil was born on 23 September 1942 at Kadaplamattam.  After his school education he joined the seminary for priestly formation.  He was ordained priest on 15 March 1971.  He was appointed Bishop on 15 January 2003 and was ordained bishop on 2 March 2003 and was installed on the same day.
